Due to environmental system has a media and interface, components and the characteristics of the flow, migration of pollutants in the environment system of transformation process is very complex, qualitative description is relatively easy, quantitative characterization is very difficult, therefore, the main research direction includes the distribution of pollutants in environmental media and tending towards behavior, medium environment migration mechanism of pollutants, micro interface control and influence of pollutants migration and transformation of complex system, the pollutant migration process simulation, etc.
Traditional research on environmental pollution and control is basically limited to the properties of media, and scientists in the field of environment often distinguish them according to the media they focus on. With the deepening of the concept of environmental system, the research on water, gas, soil or biological single media pollution will not be able to solve the complex environmental problems faced by China. Research, environmental pollution and control of the future will abandon the pollutants from a medium to another medium inertial thinking, through the overall consideration of the soil pollution, water, gas, in-depth study of pollutants in the medium of the migration process and its application in the interface between the conversion mechanism, from the true sense realize accurate characterization and effective control of environmental pollution.
